[She dips her head in response, both an acknowledgement of his introduction and a greeting in return.]
Well met; my name is Gwendolyn. T'is perhaps unfavourable, but I've seen many battlefields in my lifetime-[And she looks pretty young.]-so I can say it's far from the worst meeting I have had.
[She met her future husband with a sword at her throat! Life's funny that way.]
[...ah, hm. She does look pretty young, but it's not like his world hasn't been saved by people obviously younger than her. So uh... not as fucked up as it could be, he guesses. Still maybe a little fucked up though.]
I see. I'll admit, I come from more peaceful times, but I would hope I can still be of some assistance here.
Well, I do my best to keep myself prepared just in case I really have to fight, so I'm glad I can keep up with you. I think you're the most impressive one here.
[...like, he's not just buttering her up as they go on, he's legitimately impressed here.]
You can just sort of cause ice to appear, right? I have to work with what already exists in the environment when I'm bending
[She nods, lifting her spear somewhat to draw his attention to it. It's a fairly simple iron shaft, but the blade of the spear is a beautiful blue crystal with a gentle glow about it.]
In truth, it's Gungnir that performs magic rather than myself. The blade has a great number of applications in combat, but generating cold and ice is its...primary function, you could call it.
Neither did I. I mean, we have airships back home, but those can only travel up to a certain altitude. I can't even imagine making it to the moon or outside the atmosphere.
It's probably not impossible, mind. I'm curious to see if our industrialists get up to it at some point.
I've been wondering that myself. Dwarven technology is some of the most advanced in Erion...to be honest, I wouldn't put it past them to develop such technology before long.
[Except armageddon is on the way and her whole planet is doomed, but it's good.....maybe.]
Though we've no idea what's out there, either...I cannot see the sea of stars being as easily mapped out as an ordinary one. I'd wonder how long it took the people here.
I can only really judge where my world's at, unfortunately, so I couldn't say. Though, I'll agree, I am fairly interested in the history of this world just to get my bearings on how anything even ended up this way.
[hmmm... it looks like they're getting close to the end of what's frozen, at least. maybe there's a source of some kind...]

Though, I'm starting to get the impression that's going to be a pretty common refrain here.
